Durian Flower Dish

At Rumah Liza the durian trees are heavy with its flowers before maturing into fleshy durians.....yummmy...

So when Ana, my staff, posted pictures of the durian flowers which she stir-fried....I was curious and requested its recipe.

Ana searched for the durian flowers which drop off the branches in the morning with Baha, our farmhand. According to Ana, the flowers were fresh in the morning and would taste delicious when fried.

Here is her recipe:

Ingredients for frying:
Onions, Garlic, Cili Api, Ikan Bilis
(Pound coarsely or if lazy....can blend also)

Heat oil and then fry above ingredients. Then add the durian flowers. DO NOT add water, otherwise it will taste funny.

Eat with rice, salted egg or salted fìsh.

Please watch video to learn how to shred the durian flowers. Me too first time know durian flowers can eat one.....hahahaa......

Ana.....thank you for the pictures and video too.
