Selfie - Samsung S4 Grande

Ramadan 2nd day

I did not hear the alarm this morning...luckily the factory bus woke me up with its noisy engine.  The main road was about fifty metres from my abode.

Anyway, I jumped out of bed, washed my face and brushed my teeth....then woke hubby and the children, and rushed to the kitchen.  But then, it was just 5am, so still plenty of time to have our dawn meal.

I had milo and a piece of date. Hubby had his dutch cookies whilst the children had cocoa crunch with fresh milk.   Wahid had already returned to Ipoh last night after teraweeh prayers.  He arrived safeky at 2.30am this morning.  Alhamdullilah.

I followed hubby when he sent Sofiyah to school this morning.  Then, he sent me to the hospital for my physiotherapy. I reached the hospital at 7.25am.  The reception desk was still closed.  So I waited.....and somehow I dozed off....hehehe...

I heard the receptionist called out my name...and I woke up dizzy.... I do not take short naps.... .that was why I got dizzy....heheheee.... Anyway, off I went for physio on the first floor.

Boy, was I sleepy....I was yawning away when the therapist put the hot pad over my knee. Then did stretching, wall push ups, balancing, gym ball, trampoline, leg press and finally cycling.  For the leg press I had to lift 120 lbs 30 times and 130 lbs 10 times.      It was easy..... Alhamdullilah.

After physio, I called hubby to fetch me at the hospital.  Hubby was late....again!  Anyway, when I reached home, took ablution and then went to my neighbour's house for tadarrus Quran i.e. reading the Quran in a group.

There were seven of us.  Each of us then read four pages of the second Surah which is Surah Albaqarah.  We began reading at 11.30am.

Suddenly there was an incoming call on my new Samsung S4 Grande.... It was from Edy, the Fitness Concept guy informing me he had reached my abode to deliver the trampoline.....

Thus, I now have a treadmill and also a trampoline to exercise with.  I need to use the trampoline because of my operated knee. Here are more pictures....

Then after zuhur prayers and reading rhe Quran, I began cooking for iftar i.e. breaking of the fast.  My first dish was mee hoon soup...... Then when Ayeshah came home from work, she cooked kuih kelompong aka onde-onde....

Onde-onde is made from glutinous flour mixed with salt and water to make a dough.  Then, Gula enau cut into cubes, are pressed into the dough which are the size of a large marble.  Then put the marbled dough into a pot of boiling water.  When the dough floated to the top of the pot, roll it onto fresh coconut flakes mixed with a little salt.  Here is a picture of the Onde-onde......

After iftar and maghrib prayers, we went to Masjid Uniten for Teraweeh prayers, Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan 2014 - 1st day

I woke up at 4.30 this morning to prepare the pre dawn meal before fasting began at dawn. I cooked fried rice since my son Khairul requested for it.  Hubby as usual, ate Kjieldsen Dutch cookies, his favourite biscuits.  As for me, I had coco crunch with seven pieces of dried dates dunked in fresh milk.

While waiting for fajr prayer, I did our laundry. Then when the azan was heard, hubby and Wahid went to the mosque for fajr prayers.  I did my prayers at home.

I then read the Quran, continuing from where I left i.e. Surah Albaqarah verse 26, which I read while waiting for eshaq at Uniten mosque the previous night.

Thus, I managed to complete the first juzuk of the Quran, after Zuhur prayers, Alhamdulillah.
After Asar prayers, I began to cook for iftar.  As usual, the main menu is Mee hoon soup, hubby's favourite.

Then, while waiting for iftar, I read the Quran.  Thus, I managed to read a few more pages of second juzujpk, Alhamdullilah.

After Iftar, we had our magrib prayers, where hubby was the imam.  Then we drove to Uniten mosque dor teraweeh prayers.  I had to use the mobile stool (see picture) since I still could not pray the normal way.  I had to pray while sitting down...

According to my physiotherapist, it would be another month or two before I could begin to pray normally.

In shaa Allah, during Ramadan, I will seek Allah's blessing so that He will cure my injured knee and grant me good health. Aamiinn.

 (Ayeshah with my birthday present)

(Thank you dear....)

(My birthday presents....)

This year I celebrated my 56th birthday on the last day of Shaaban.   After maghrib prayers, while getting ready to go to the mosque for Teraweeh prayers, my children brought out the birthday cake from Secret Recipe.  All my children were here except for kak long and her family.  They were in Kedah, at my son-in-law's parents' abode.  They were there to celebrate first day of Ramadan.  It was also the first time, that Ahmad celebrated Ramadan with his family after his marriage to kak long.  Kak long was sad that she was unable to be with me on my birthday, but I assured her it was okay.  Now that she is married, her husband and family comes first.

Kak Long was not around, yet, I received a birthday present from her and Ahmad.  She gave me a beautiful Evita Peroni stretchy. Hubby gave me a Samsung S4 Grande, which he presented on the eve of my birthday. So, yesterday afternoon, Wahid and Sofiyah accompanied me to The Mines to transfer all data from my Nokia N8 to the new Samsung Grande.

Badruzzaman gave me a huge apron.....he said for me to use when I cook rendang for the coming Eid.  Hehee....thoughtful of him.  As for Kak Ngah, she gave me a Fossil clutch to store an ipad or tablet.  Since I do not have one, I will use the clutch to store my Quran when I go for Tadarrus during Ramadan.  The Quran fit perfectly into the clutch.  The rest of my children, Khairul, Wahid and Sofiyah gave me bear hugs and kisses.....lots of it....hahahaa.....

To my hubby and all my children, son-in-law and grandson...thank you very much for the presents and the cake too......I love you all very much eternally.....

Ramadan Mubarak

(copy and paste from Imam Suhaib Webb Facebook page)

How to Unlock Ramadan's Potential (Part 1)
Over the next few days leading up to Ramadān, I will share some thoughts on how to enter the month fully prepared.

PREPARE NOW!
A common mistake most people make is to talk about preparing for the month once the month has already started. No! Prepare ahead of time. So, when it begins, you are ready to dive in.

Remember! Every season has its uniqueness that makes planting crops best. Ramadan is the season to plant faith and taqwa and its crop will continue to grow throughout the entire year! In order to harvest that crop, start preparing the soil now! You got this...bimisllah!

Start Your Engines!
Once a person asked a Sheikh, "The month of Ramadan has started, what should I do?" The Sheikh responded, "If you are asking now, you are too late!"

Don't Let The Month Get Cold
Can you imagine folks sitting at a table with really nice food and instead of eating, folks talk about how it was made and what it will taste like when its cooked or worse, argue about how it was prepared!? By the time they get around to eating it, it will be cold! The same applies to Ramadan! Let's talk about preparation now, so when the month comes, we are ready to go!

How Can You Prepare?
Make a list of at least three things you want to accomplish during the month and place them under headings like worship, community service and character development.Take a picture of that list with your phone and review it everyday during the month. Twice is ideal, once in the morning and once in the evening. Under each category put something you want to improve on and something you want to get rid of. Here's an example that I made for myself for this year:

1. Worship:
A) Improve my concentration in prayer and make all tarawihs and completion one reading of the Qur'an on my own.
B) Avoid missing any sunnas during the month and my daily dhikr

2. Community Service
A) Volunteer with a local food pantry
B) Avoid being uninformed about those in need in my city - make sure to attend neighborhood meetings for the rest of the year

3. Character Development
A) Develop a softer heart towards those around me
B) Avoid being arrogant and haughty

Start now! Don't delay! Make a list and SHARE it below. Let's all make dua for each other that this month will be a blessing for us.

May Allah bless us to have a special Ramadan!

RASULULLAH SAW LEBIH MULIA....PANGGILANNYA SENTIASA BERPANGKAT. .

RASULULLAH SAW LEBIH MULIA....PANGGILANNYA SENTIASA BERPANGKAT. .
Para Rasul semuanya mulia. Mereka ini tiada taranya jika nak dibanding dengan manusia biasa, namun begitu Allah menetapkan tahap antara para rasul juga berbeza;
Antaranya:
Allah TIDAK MENGGUNAKAN nama baginda (Muhammad) ketika memanggil baginda dalam al-Quran. Allah hanya memanggilnya dgn jawatan kemuliaan seperti WAHAI RASUL. ..WAHAI NABI..
Kita juga suka dan rasa dimuliakan jika orang memanggil kita dgn panggilan TUAN HAJI....ENCIK...DATO'...DATIN...TAN SRI...USTAZ. .TUAN GURU dan sebagainya.
Sedangkan sesetengah rasul lain, kadang2 Allah panggil dengan nama mereka. Wahai Nuh!
Allah berfirman: Wahai Nuh!
Serta Kami menyerunya: "Wahai Ibrahim!
Allah berfirman: "Wahai Musa! Sesungguhnya Aku memilihmu melebihi umat manusia (yang ada pada zamanmu), dengan membawa perutusanKu (Kitab Taurat) dan dengan KalamKu; oleh itu, terimalah apa yang Aku kurniakan kepadamu, dan jadikanlah dirimu dari orang-orang yang bersyukur" (al-A'raf [7:144]).
Bukan bermaksud mengurangkan kemuliaan para rasul lain, tapi ia sekadar bicara mengutamakan baginda Rasulullah SAW.

We again stayed at DeMuara Resort during the school holidays with Sofiyah.  She tagged along because, otherwise she was at home alone.....

Anyway, this time we did not stay at the water chalet, instead we stayed at the two bedroom apartment near the jetty.  When we arrived, it was high tide, so we took the above pictures.

Unripe mangosteen at Rumah Liza

I was at Rumah Liza, my homestay aka weekend retreat, and I noticed the mangosteen trees had started to bear its fruits.  According to hubby, if the weather remains hot all the time, chances are our mangosteen, when ripe, will not be as large as an orange.....
